How to navigate and use this guide effectively

Welcome to the TMS Software User Guide. This guide is designed to help you quickly find the information you need and follow step-by-step instructions for using TMS Software effectively.

Before you begin, please review the tips below to understand how to navigate this guide, find the right category, and use written instructions together with the software interface.

How to Find Your Way Around This Guide

There are three ways to reach a page, and they answer different questions.

Search the whole guide. The Search box sits in the top bar of every page, and Ctrl + K (⌘ + K on a Mac) opens it from anywhere. It searches every page, not only the one you are reading, and each result names the section the match was found in. This is the fastest route when you know the word you are looking for: a button name, a field name, a status.

Browse by category. The menu on the left lists every category and the pages inside it. Click a category name to open it. The page you are reading is highlighted, so the menu also tells you where you are.

Jump within a page. The list on the right holds the headings of the page you are reading. Pages such as Loads or Maintenance cover several separate tasks, and this is how you get to the one you need without scrolling. At the bottom of each page, Previous and Next move through the category in order.

note

Ctrl + F searches only the page in front of you, because each page of this guide is a page of its own. Use the Search box in the top bar to search the whole guide.

Choose the Right Category

The guide is organized by the 9 real categories of the application, each matching one department of the app. To find the most relevant instructions, select the category that matches the area you are working in.

Available categories:

  • Home
  • Dispatch
  • Safety
  • Equipment
  • Drivers
  • Companies
  • Accounting & Finance
  • Business Intelligence
  • Admin

Each category contains instructions related to that area's workflows, pages, actions, and common tasks.

If you are new to TMS Software, we recommend starting with the Home category first, and reading Common Features (see below). After that, continue with the category related to your own work or current task.

note

Common Features is its own 10th category at the bottom of the sidebar, set apart with a bit of spacing and its own style since it does not map to one specific area of the app the way the other 9 do. It covers behavior shared across every category instead: how tables and lists work, how records open and save, how navigation and search are laid out, saved views and exports, documents, change history, your account menu, What's New, and the AI assistant.

Most Efficient Way to Use This Guide

This user guide is primarily text-based and does not currently include screenshots for each step. For best results, read the written instructions carefully and follow them directly inside the software.

Most step-by-step instructions include the exact names of pages, buttons, tabs, sections, or options you need to find.

When using the software, press CTRL + F in your browser to search for the exact term mentioned in the guide. This can help you quickly locate buttons, sections, pages, options, or other interface elements.

EXAMPLE

note

This first version of the User Guide does not include screenshots for every workflow due to the limited time available to prepare it as a first-aid support resource. We apologize for any inconvenience. An improved version with additional visuals and examples will be available later.
